This is the capital of Kayin State.
Many of the hidden optical treasures of the country are around Hpa An. Up to now not a tourist destination at all because almost nobody know it. The location has a very attractive environment with caves and incredible limestone formations. From Mwalamyine a 5 hour boat ride upriver is available with lots of things to see on a Myanmar holiday tour.
