Accommodations could be one of the real problems when travel.
You wont get a headache to find some in Yangon or Mandalay and also at the three most popular beach sites which are Chaungtha, Ngwe Saung and Ngapali but in most other places it could become an issue.
Although the government had some built already years ago at places where there was nothing but it's to little and most budget hotels are definitely still substandard. A very pretty place are the "Golden Island Cottages".
There is a way out by using family guesthouses which are many in Yangon and a other interesting version when you get stranded is ask for the next monastery the monks are positive to supply a place to sleep. Although it is not a very comfortable one it works, if you ever stay in one of this places don't forget to give a donation when you leave.
